Bluff City road debate continues.

Jan. 9--The discussion of who is responsible for Bluff City road repairs continued Monday.

Last month, Sullivan County Board of Education members said they are not responsible for repairing erosion along Summit Street behind Bluff City Middle School. They also said they could not discuss the issue without a formal request.

Bluff City Mayor Bob Thomas submitted that request, saying the city cannot afford the repairs on its own.

"I can't say ... exactly who is responsible for what, but the bank belongs to the county," he said. "We feel like they should share some of the responsibility."

The road has been closed …
