McClash takes reins at Port Manatee.
Joe McClash has been elected chairman of the Manatee County Port Authority. He succeeds Ron Getman.
A 16-year veteran of the port authority board, McClash served as chairman in 2003, as first vice chairman in 2000 and 2001, and as second vice chairman in 1996.
Last year, McClash chaired the Manatee County Board of County Commissions, where he has served since 1990.
The port authority's seven members, who serve four-year, staggered terms, set policy and approve major expenditures for Port Manatee.
