Mayor Bright sees city growth ahead.

Dec. 30--Mayor Bobby Bright is looking forward to a good year in 2007 for the Capital City.

More retail offerings will be coming in the next year, and the city's interstate system will see much-needed improvement, he said in his regular Friday morning news meeting.

Bright wouldn't say which stores might be interested in coming to Montgomery, but he said the new development will be felt citywide.

"Of course the area of east Montgomery will remain the primary retail growth area, but you will see growth on the westside of town as well," he said. "Citizens will see improvements to I-65, especially south of the I-85 …
