JOSE MOURINHO has been told by Chelsea's board to sort out the club's faltering Premiership challenge. There is concern among the club's hierarchy at the team's shambolic defending, and fears that a third consecutive title is slipping away. Chelsea bigwigs are also upset by Mourinho's criticism of his own players, and suggestions defenders William Gallas and Robert Huth were sold without his agreement. Owner Roman Abramovich was back at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to see his team's worst performance under Mourinho as they slumped to a second home draw in a row, against Fulham. He heard Chelsea booed from the pitch, which Mourinho insisted was unfair. The board understand Mourinho is missing players like Petr Cech and John Terry, but they expect him to get it right considering the GBP330m outlay on the team. Chairman Bruce Buck was at Saturday's press conference to hear Mourinho's rant as he confessed his side can't defend. Manchester United are six points ahead of Chelsea, who have leaked eight goals in four games. Joe Cole has also been ruled out for the season with a foot injury.
