MICHAEL OWEN has boosted Newcastle and England by insisting he is aiming for an April comeback. The Toon striker has vowed to come back better than ever following the injury hell which wrecked his World Cup and restricted him to just half an hour's action for Newcastle last year. Owen (below) is desperate to play again this season and all the signs suggest he's right on track. Toon chief Glenn Roeder last night said that latest scan results from the United States reveal the cruciate knee injury has healed perfectly and he can soon step up his training. "At worst, Michael is on schedule, " said Roeder. "Potentially he is ahead of schedule because the knee is in pristine condition. "He got a scan sent over to Richard Steadman in Colorado.
