HEAVY ground may have robbed us of seeing Black Jack Ketchum at Cheltenham today, but the clash between MY WAY DE SOLZEN (1.40, nb) and Turko can launch 2007 on a very high note. Neither Alan King nor Paul Nicholls will be delighted by the prospect of their rising stable stars having to exert themselves to the full in ground resembling a paddy field. But at least they have plenty of time between now and the Festival to recover. And though both have winning form on testing surfaces, you can bet that jockeys Robert Thornton and Ruby Walsh will be tacking over to wherever they think the best ground is. Turko is pleasing Nicholls, who revealed over the weekend that he rates him as highly as his Royal & SunAlliance Chase winner Star De Mohaison. Certainly his Wincanton victory in November (where he jumped markedly left) has been boosted by the subsequent victory over Boychuk in a Grade 2 chase at Newbury. But My Way De Solzen represents a higher calibre of form at this stage. ...
