BEIJING, Jan 1 Asia Pulse - Ou Xinqian, vice chairman of China's National Development and Reform Commission, revealed that China's small and medium-sized enterprises contributed to 60 per cent of the country's total import and export in 2006 and made up above 80 per cent of China's more than 30,000 enterprises engaging in transnational investment and operation.
Meanwhile, the SMEs provided 75 per cent of new jobs in Chinese enterprises, and finished products and the service value they produced accounted for 60 per cent of China's Gross Domestic Product, and taxes paid made up about 50 per cent of the total paid by all Chinese enterprises.
