Sales fraud is generally contextualized as the sales frauds that target customers. However, sales frauds also exist in many other contexts, which are frequently hidden under other organizational behavioral descriptions, such as poor management practices, auditing failures, accounting adjustments and bribery. These latter sales frauds are not the focus of this article. I have classified all sales frauds, except those that target customers, as the "hidden frauds". Consequently, these sales frauds remain relatively unreported, rarely investigated or included in operating reviews as they do not seem to be a material problem.
