National Housewares/Consumer Products Credit Group celebrates 50 years.(member news)(Brief article)
On August 17, 2006, the National Housewares/Consumer Products Credit Group marked a milestone 50th Anniversary. This achievement was celebrated at their two-day meeting at the Hilton Suites in Chicago, IL by members in attendance, President Phil Lattanzio and Group Administrator, Lillian Novak.
This group had its organizational meeting in early 1956 and the first regular meeting was held in June of that year. Marve Simon, Ekco Products Company, served as the group's first chairman, as it was through his efforts that the group was established. Twenty-one companies attended the initial meeting, including Ekco Products (now World Industries), The Wooster Rubber Company (now Newell-Rubbermaid) and Aladdin Industries. All three companies remain members of the group today.
