Missouri MTA is growing with ideas, rejuvenated collegiate chapters, innovative state conferences, a new design of NOTES (print publication), investigation of funding strategies, and an expanded website (wvvw.missourimta.org). Several Missouri MTA members have recently received honors. Dolores Zupan, former Missouri president and MTNA president, was named an MTNA FOUNDATION Fellow; John Ernst was winner of the MTNA Young Artist Composition Competition; and Mukai Kohei received Honorable Mention as the state's Commissioned Composer. In 2005, Missouri's Commissioned Composer, Stefan Freund, was named MTNA-Shepherd Distinguished Composer of the Year.
