Highlights from Greensboro MTA include Susan Alcon's "Studio Makeover," Suzanne Hock's session on "Dalcroze Eurhythmics," and Don Hodges's program on "Development in the Music Brain." The Charlotte MTA encouraged students to strive for student certification, promoting involvement in the community, and they hosted a Beethoven composition event and recital. The Durham Music Teachers Chapter commissioned Malcom Rector to compose and conduct a piece for the Annual Black Composers Recital. Other activities included three annual play-a-thons, raising $1,500 for a scholarship fund.
