Winterthur Museum & Country Estate presents one of the East Coast's premier antiques events, featuring 60 of the nation's most distinguished dealers in American antiques, including furniture, paintings, rugs, porcelain, silver, jewelry, and other decorative arts. November 17-19. Alexandria, VA. HISTORIC ALEXANDRIA ANTIQUES SHOW. Benefiting Historic Alexandria Foundation, the show will feature 17th to 19th C. American and European furniture; tall clocks; fine art; ceramics; jewelry and silver; early glass and brassware; folk art; garden furniture, and much more. A Gala Preview Party will be held on Thursday, November 16, 6:30-9:30 p.m. The theme of this year's show is Blossoming of the Decorative Arts. Special events will include a lecture entitled "Everlastings: A Garden Tour Through the Decorative Arts" on Friday, November 17, 2:00 p.m.; and a lecture and demonstration on "New Trends and Directions in French Floral Design" on Saturday, November 18, 2:00 p.m. On Saturday, 5:00-7:00 p.m., the Young Collectors Evening features a professionally guided tour of the show followed by a reception in a private Alexandria home.
