Dec. 23--The town of Pike Road was in the news this week with a special election Tuesday night when it nearly doubled in population after nearby residents decided to be annexed into the town.

The Montgomery Advertiser spoke to the town's mayor, Gordon Stone, about Pike Road's past and its future.
