The term blockbuster is often applied too casually, but it is not an exaggeration in the case of the exhibition called Holbein in England on view at the Tate Britain in London until January 7, 2007. The show, organized by Susan Foister of the National Gallery and sponsored by the British Land Company, includes nearly forty paintings as well as numerous drawings, decorative designs, and prints. Together, they show the enormous depth and breadth of Hans Holbein the Younger's output in England and document the thrill of life at court in Tudor England, reflecting the unsettled history and politics of the time.
