Industry Day Sessions are designed for attendees to gather and network by like industries. Please note that these are not "closed" group meetings (unless indicated), and everyone is welcome to attend any of these sessions:

14021. Advertising/Media (U)

This will be a 3 topic session that will include an update on the implementation and effects of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act generally and, specifically on the advertising and media industry. A discussion of the culpability of advertisers for product liability issues and an update on case law involving Sequential v. Joint & Several liability issues will be presented. The speakers for this session will be Scott Blakeley, Esq. of Blakeley and Blakeley, LLP and Wanda Borges, Esq. of Borges & Associates, LLC. There will be lively discussion plus time for feedback on all topics as well as door prizes.

David Hobbs from Financial Corp of America will give an overview of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the who, what, when, where and why of selecting an agency. Collection techniques and when to use first, third parties or attorneys will also be covered in this informative session.
