One Of Nottingham's next city living apartment blocks will be full of affordable homes.

More than GBP6m is being spent by a property consortium on building two apartment blocks and a series of mews-style houses in The Meadows.

The new development will be known as Victoria Embankment and is being built by a consortium led by Derwent Living.

The scheme will be built by January, 2008, using local labour and locally-sourced building materials.

It is one of the first in a series of new affordable housing developments being proposed by the Quantum Consortium.
