Bratislava, Dec 19 (CTK) - German car maker Volkswagen launched production at its plant in Bratislava 15 years ago and has so far invested EUR1.3bn there. Below is a survey of the most important events in the history of the plant, now employing some 9,000 staff. 1991 March 12 - Volkswagen, Bratislavske automobilove zavody and Slovak government sign contract founding a new company Dec 21 - first two cars - Volkswagen Passat B3 Arriva - assembled 1992 Feb 14 - serial production at Volkswagen Bratislava launched June 9 - 1,000th unit produced 1993 September - new paint shop with daily capacity of 150 car bodies put into operation 1994 January - …
