Administrators at Boston College MA have assumed the right to reject a student-recruited speaker whose views might conflict with those of Catholic doctrine, according to a policy change at the school.
The dean of students can decide whether a speaker holds views contrary to Catholic doctrine--especially on issues such as contraception, abortion and gay rights--and demand that one who upholds the Catholic doctrine be included. If that is impossible, administrators can cancel the event.
