Stating that properly funding a football team would jeopardize the school's academic mission, Mansfield University PA President Marvane Loeschke reluctantly cut the school's football team after this fiscal year.
One of Pennsylvania's smallest state schools at 3,400 students, it has a steady enrollment but an annually escalating football budget, $500,000 for this year with double that needed to become competitive in Div. II. A task force will try to raise the funds to bring back the team.
