In the highly competitive global economy, U.S. businesses are striving harder to lower costs and improve their processes. The key to improvement is measurement. Often, Day Sales Outstanding (DSO) is utilized as a performance metric of the credit and collections functions of a business to indicate their success or shortcomings.
