What Is Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)?
WAWF is a web-enabled, paperless contracting software application. It is designed for defense contractors to create and submit invoices and/or receiving reports to government inspectors/acceptors for approval. WAWF gives contractors and approved government officials instant access to three key documents in the payment process: the contract, the invoice, and the receiving report.
Contractors can download software free of charge. There is no additional cost for using WAWF for the creation and submission of invoices and/or receiving reports and relatively or little change to contractor's current business processes should be required. You can register and download the latest WAWF version at https://wawf.eb.mil/. The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) also offers free "hands-on" contractor training at DFAS locations throughout the United States. Registration for these training sessions can be performed online at: www.dfas.mil/commpay/vptraining.htm. Web-based training is also available at www.wawftraining.com/.
Contractors can submit invoice and/or receiving documents one of three ways:
1. The Internet
2. File Transfer Protocol (FTP), or
3. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
