1 | SLOW BUILDUP New York City makeup artist Loraine Abeles wanted to create a makeup line with colors she could never find in stores. Her new collection, Loraine, sold exclusively at Annie O., a boutique in the Hotel on Rivington on the Lower East Side, is set apart by its edgy but surprisingly wearable palette. Eye shadows come in teal, aubergine and platinum gray; foundations are mineral-based but glide on sheerly. "I love subtle glam, and it shouldn't take too much time to get there," says Abeles, a 42-year-old redhead who works with Lenny Kravitz and the Donnas. "But the makeup goes both ways.
