Amity Chandler asked about 100 teenagers: "How many of you would report a party where you knew kids were drinking alcohol illegally?"

Almost everyone raised their hands.

"How many of you have actually reported illegal drinking?" she asked.

One hand went up.

Kids are not a whole lot different from their parents. They may recognize potentially destructive behavior, and they may not condone it, but they're not so sure they want to press the button for a seemingly quick fix.

Things are more complicated than that.
