BOSTON -- The Public Health Advocacy Institute (PHAI) applauds the New York City Board of Health's unanimous vote today to ban trans fats at city restaurants. PHAI also supports the Board of Health's ruling that some restaurants that provide calorie information to customers must now provide this information on the menu itself. Previously, calorie information was sometimes available only on the Internet or on packaging viewed after the product was purchased, greatly diminishing its use to consumers.
