A new study on women in theatre says tragically little progress has been made in getting women's plays performed and hiring more women as artistic directors of theatre companies.

The Equity in Canadian Theatre initiative, co-chaired by Hope McIntyre (artistic director of Sarasvati Productions and president of the Playwrights Guild of Canada) and Kelly Thornton (artistic director of Toronto's Nightwood Theatre) sent out surveys to 200 theatres in Canada.
