Lawmakers make push for CSO project money.

Nov. 30--Area lawmakers said Tuesday that they are working with the governor's office and top Senate leaders to secure state funding for Lynchburg's multimillion dollar combined sewer overflow project.

During the last General Assembly session, the sewer project was excluded from the state budget, although money was allotted for similar work in Richmond.

Sen. Steve Newman, R-Forest, and Delegate Shannon Valentine, D-Lynchburg, told business leaders gathered at Oakwood Country Club for the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative breakfast that they are working to get CSO money during this winter's General Assembly session.
