SYDNEY, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - The Kerry Stokes-backed Bayard Group has shelled out $A900 million ($US708.62 million) to acquire automated meter reading company Cellnet Technologies.
The transaction is the largest for the Sydney-based energy measurement and efficiency technology group and follows the million purchase of Finland-based supplier of advanced metering, Enermet, in May.
Bayard is run by former APN News (ASX:APN) and Media Ltd chief executive Cameron O'Reilly, who is the son of media magnate Sir Anthony O'Reilly, a major shareholder of the company.
Joining Sir O'Reilly on the shareholder register is Seven Network Ltd (ASX:SEV) boss Kerry Stokes, former Lion Nathan chairman Douglas Myers, Rural Press (ASX:RUP) chairman John B. Fairfax, the Smorgon family, fashion designer Carla Zampatti ...
