In the third worst lethal peacetime crash in a decade, 19 Marines died when their tilt-rotor MV-22 Osprey crashed near Marana, 25 miles from Tucson, Ariz., on April 9. (Last December, a CH-46 crashed in the ocean off Point Loma, Calif., killing six Marines and a Navy corpsman.)
