Making Time for Sundials

I just received my October her issue and was delighted to see "Sundials" (Your Garden, by Michael Weishan). I have always been intrigued by these beautiful pieces of very practical artwork. When I was a little girl, my parents would take me to the local arboretum, where a chipped and ancient-looking but beautiful sundial sat. When I married, my husband's wedding gift to me was a sundial with the Robert Browning inscription, "Grow old along with me/The best is yet to be." This gift sits in my flower bed, where it is a constant reminder of how precious time is.

Admiration for an Accomplished Woman

I just received my October 2000 issue and it looks great, as usual, but the article on the incredible job that Michelle Boyd Mayhew did with her partner, Jim Davis, took my breath away ("A Master's Degree From D-I-Y U," by Lynne Konstantin, Country Property Dollars & Sense). What an amazing woman to nor only take on such a project but to see it through. The house is beautiful and the interior details look professional. That's a woman I would like to know.
