HealthWave 20,000 shy of its 60,000 goal
HealthWave, a state and federal program that provides health insurance to children and teens of families with limited income, is making progress toward the goal of insuring an estimated 60,000 uninsured children in Kansas, according to its director, Vickie Johnson-Scott.
Scott was in town last week to meet with area business and community leaders to spread word of the low-cost or no-cost program, which already has signed up 3,100 uninsured children in Sedgwick County for HealthWave and identified another 4,000 eligible for Medicaid.
