One of New England's largest banks, Fleet Boston has earned on a "D" on an NAACP report card that organization officials said serves as a gauge for the industry to measure responsiveness to ethnic markets.

Started in 1996, this is the first year the NAACP's Economic Reciprocity Initiative has reviewed the financial services industry. According to NAACP officials the report comes at a time when studies show that the 1990's and the first part of 2000 have been particularly prosperous for minority groups.
