Raley Field is not just about baseball.

While West Sacramento's new ballpark is best known as the home of the River Cats, the company that manages it -- River City Stadium Management LLC -- is starting to rent out the stadium for charity events, trade shows and business meetings. And the stadium's first concert has been booked for next spring -- a still-undisclosed act that's expected to draw 12,000 to 15,000 people.

The ballpark rents for around $10,000 to $15,000 a day, plus building expenses. That doesn't include food, which is supplied by River City Concessions LLC.

The main pitch, so to speak, is that "this cool to be," says Bob Herrfeldt, head of stadium operations.
