Just more than half of respondents to a two-week Card Technology online survey predict Web-based banking smart cards will become popular, while a little over a quarter shot down the idea.
The remainder, like one U.S.-based respondent, say they believe banking cards that offer Web-based features will become fashionable only if issuers offer cardholders more services on the chips.
