America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) today reported record traffic statistics for the month of November. Revenue passenger miles (RPM) for November were a record 1.6 billion, up 3.6 percent from November 1999. Capacity increased 7.1 percent in November to a record 2.3 billion available seat miles (ASM). The passenger load factor for the month was 68.8 percent compared with 71.0 percent in November 1999.
America West also reported traffic figures for year-to-date 2000, which also resulted in record RPMs and ASMs. Record year-to-date traffic of 17.5 billion RPMs was up 7.6 percent over the same period last year. ASMs increased 4.6 percent to a record 24.8 billion for the period, resulting in a passenger load factor of 70.7 percent compared with 68.7 percent for year-to-date 1999.
