RICHMOND, BC, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/
- eMobile Data Inc. announced today that BC Hydro, one of the largest electric utilities in Canada serving more than 1.5 million customers, has selected eMobile Data's Service-Link(TM) version 3.0 to meet its web-based Mobile Resource Management needs.
After BC Hydro's in-depth due diligence on automated dispatching solutions available from selected industry leaders, eMobile Data's offering of Service-Link 3.0 with its Java(TM) and XML based system architecture and open platform approach clearly emerged as the best-of-class solution.
eMobile Data will replace BC Hydro's existing dispatching system with its state-of-the-art solution, Service-Link 3.0, to be deployed on an Application Service Provider (ASP) basis. "We value the commitment and insight BC Hydro has shown in Service-Link and in eMobile Data, a high-technology company with a future and vision that will take both companies into the next generation of Mobile Resource Management as leaders in our fields", said Marc Jones, President and CEO of eMobile Data.
BC Hydro will utilize Service-Link to increase the effectiveness of its field service workers in providing superior levels of service and support to customers, while enjoying the competitive advantages of reduced operating costs, instant access to information, more accurate data entry from the field, reduced manpower and overtime costs, enhanced customer service, minimal support and maintenance requirements, and improved response to emergency orders.
