The excitement is mounting in North Port this week as its Pop Warner football squad, the Junior Pee Wee Stallions, prepare for the second round of the regional playoffs this Saturday in Sarasota.
"It's the first time we've had a football team advance," said the North Port Mustangs Athletic Director, James Rider. "We've only been in the Peace River Conference five years. We're real excited for them and for our two cheerleading teams going to the regional finals in Miami."
