LAS VEGAS, COMDEX 2000 -- Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today announced that its Palm(TM) Mobile Internet Kit is shipping. The software product allows virtually all Palm handheld computer users to connect wirelessly to the Internet using a data-enabled mobile phone. The kit is available immediately in the United States, with scheduled availability in the rest of the world by the end of the month.

The kit, available for an estimated street price of $39.95 (U.S.), can be ordered via the web or directly from Palm in the United States and Europe, and also is available in the retail channel throughout Europe and Asia Pacific.

Products that support the kit include the Palm m100, Palm III, Palm IIIc, Palm IIIx, Palm IIIxe, Palm V and Palm Vx handhelds.

Palm OS Upgrade

The Palm Mobile Internet Kit requires Palm OS(R) 3.5, and the upgrade software is included on the CD-ROM, enabling those with an upgradeable Palm handheld the Palm III, Palm IIIx, and Palm V series handhelds to take advantage of many new OS features.
