The National Basketball Association is suing The New York Times, claiming the newspaper is violating terms for covering games by selling action photographs to the public.

The lawsuit, filed July 7 in state court, centers on five photographs of the 1999 Knicks-Pacers playoff games, according to The New York Times.

The Times is offering the photos through its online store -- $900 for the collection or $195 for single pictures. The league said the sale of the photos violates the conditions the news media agree to when applying for credentials to shoot …
