A lawyer friend asked the other day whether I also believed, as one economist suggested, that a recession, not a slowdown was ahead.

I told him that I hadn't heard that from any economist, that those with whom I speak, suggest that we're in for a slowdown, and given Rhode Island's lack of preparedness, we'd probably slow a little more than some other places, but we wouldn't stop Projections are that for next year Rhode Island's job growth will be about 0.7 percent.
