Nov. 29--Almost a year has passed since the prestigious journal Science took a major hit for publishing what turned out to be fraudulent articles by a South Korean scientist who claimed to have made breakthroughs in therapeutic cloning. This week, results from an independent committee found that the process of scrutinizing scientific findings outside the laboratory is not an easy one, but new procedures can make it harder for fraud to slip through the editorial process.
