Nov. 29--The dollar has dropped about 5 percent in value against the euro since mid-October, hitting a 20-month low last Monday, while also declining nearly 4 percent against Japan's yen. Newsday spoke yesterday morning with Anthony Chan, chief economist for JPMorgan Private Client Services in Manhattan, about the causes of the dollar's decline, the significance for consumers and U.S. companies, and where the dollar is likely to go from here.
