Nov. 29--There is a story behind every crimson stain that surrounded Scott Nager after he was nearly decapitated with a samurai sword, a blood spatter expert testified at Zachary Gibian's murder trial yesterday.

Forensic scientist Donald Doller said that, when closely analyzed, the shapes, sizes and locations of the stains reveal Nager's final moments from when he was awakened with a first blow to his neck until his life was snuffed out with a second strike that severed his spinal cord.
