Nov. 29--AUSTIN -- The Texas State Railroad will keep chugging along at least through Aug. 31, 2007, thanks to about $2.2 million in operating cash recently identified by state budget officials.
That's the word from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, which released a statement Tuesday confirming that officials have verified the existence of previously unbudgeted money. The agency said the money comes from a much larger pool of self-generated revenue, estimated at more than $18 million in the 2006 fiscal year.
