Equifax, the global identity verification and fraud prevention solution provider, has launched a new online application fraud detection and prevention system, Siran. Equifax said the solution was developed in direct response to the reported 11 percent increase in the number of fraudulent credit applications granted in the first half of 2006.

Equifax developed Siran in partnership with fraud data and solution specialists Synectics Solutions, incorporating Sira Financial.
