What was the first job you got when you finished your education/training?

My first job was with the Ministry of Defence, working in administration on the European fighter aircraft project. They helped me complete my academic education training via day-release and night classes.

Why did you become interested in health and safety?

My first taste of H & S was with the MoD as a building services manager. When I joined the NHS they asked if I "fancied doing the Nebosh Diploma so I could do H & S stuff as well as facilities management". So, like most people, I fell into the career by accident! I like helping people and see H & S roles as a help rather than a hindrance.
