BELGIUM'S single site machine operators are in a state of panic having been given one month only to ensure all category three gaming machines comply with new regulations.

Where the industry anticipated an autumn changeover, software on pub games--bingo and one-balls--must now be changed by June 15.

The sector is now assessing how it will meet the impending deadline. "We were hoping for an autumn cut-off point," commented Paul Strauven, secretary of single site operator's trade body UPIA. "But unfortunately it was not to be."
