3-Year-Old Girl From Bernalillo County

Influenza has been confirmed as the cause of death in a 3-year-old Bernalillo County girl, the state Department of Health announced Thursday.

Two other children's deaths in the county remain under investigation. No new deaths have been reported that require investigation, according to Dr. Joan Baumbach, the department's director of infectious disease epidemiology.

The child whose death has been attributed to influenza died Nov. 30, Baumbach said. Baumbach said she did not know if the girl had any underlying conditions that might have made her more susceptible…
