D-Link, the largest True Manufacturer of Digital Home products with four manufacturing plants in the USA, Taiwan, China and India and nearly a half-million square feet of capacity, announced today that CableLabs certified the DCM-100 DOCSIS 1.0 compliant cable modem. The DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) Certification Board and CableLabs executive committee has determined that D-Link's DCM-100 Cable Modem has passed the Certification Wave #14 process and is considered a CableLabs Certified(TM) Cable Modem.
DOCSIS is fast becoming the de facto standard in North America among cable companies for cable modem products. CableLabs, an industry technology organization, developed the DOCSIS standard to maintain compatibility with cable modem equipment built by a wide range of manufacturers. CableLabs manages a rigorous testing process for DOCSIS compliant cable modems. The DCM-100 passed all of the tests performed by the CableLabs Certification Wave #14 process. The DCM-100's success in these tests guarantees compatibility with any cable access ISP (Internet Service Providers) that meets the MCNS (Multimedia Cable Network Systems) DOCSIS requirements.
