SYDNEY, Nov 29 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar hit a new high for 2006 overnight, opening stronger today, after its US counterpart sold off heavily on fading interest rate support.
At 0700 AEDT the domestic currency was at $US0.7835/38, well up on yesterday's close of 0.7779/87.
