When plans fell through to have the samples for their spring 2006 collection sewn in New York, Carmen Hawk and Milla Jovovich stuffed eight suitcases with fabric and hopped a flight for Ukraine in hopes of having everything finished there. "How silly of us to think that this was just the perfect solution," laughs Hawk, who woke up in the hospital because of food poisoning on that fated trip. "But," she points out, "if we didn't go that extra mile. . . . " "Or 10,000 miles . . . ," interjects Jovovich. "We literally would not be here today," finishes Hawk.
